Security Information

Your safety is important to us. Please review carefully the policies and measures listed below before arriving to the event and plan your arrival to the expo and your meetings accordingly:

Security screening at all entrances to the venue:
• Everyone entering will be subject to a metal detector screening which could result in a bag search upon entry to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
• All visitor bags will be searched upon entry to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
• Plan ahead and build in extra time for this process.

Massachusetts Convention Center Authorities’ (MCCA) Prohibited Items Policy:
Weapons of any type, functional or non-functional, such as firearms, swords, knives, throwing stars, crossbows, clubs, bludgeons, etc. are strictly prohibited within MCCA facilities. The MCCA strictly prohibits all persons from carrying a firearm or other prohibited item while on MCCA property or within a facility under MCCA control, including those persons licensed to carry a firearm. Other prohibited items may include, but are not limited to, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, outside alcohol, Tasers or stun guns, and any other item that is deemed to be dangerous or a disruption to MCCA business and events.

Safety at the venue and in the city:
Surveillance & Emergencies
If you see something, say something. Any thefts or suspicious activity should be immediately reported to Security 617-954-2222 or Event Management.

In Case of an Emergency at the Venue
Report the emergency immediately. Call the Security dispatch line at 617-954-2222 or inform Event Management.
• Do not call 911 from inside the venue.
• In case of evacuation:
o Follow the instructions given over the public address system and by uniformed security personnel.
o Walk, do not run, and use evacuation routes to reach emergency exits
o Do not use elevators/lifts.

In Case of an Emergency in the City
Be vigilant about your surroundings while in the city. Call 911 if needed for the police, fire department and ambulance. Report any incident to Event Management once onsite.

Lost and Found
Lost and found articles may be turned in or claimed at the Event Management office in Room 052.
