Beware of Scams

BEWARE of FairGuide, Expo-Guide, Seafood Industry News & Source Group LLC

BEWARE of scams and companies that send you faxes or emails offering to list your company in an Exhibitor Directory or a Business Guide, for example FAIRGuide, Expo-Guide, Construct Data Verlag, World Business Directory or World Business Guide.

CONSTRUCT DATA VERLAG of Vienna, Austria or Bratislava, Slovakia (also known as FairGuide or Expo-Guide) and EU Business Services LTD of Utrecht Netherlands or Charlestown Nevis West Indies (also known as EU Business Register, World Business Directory or World Business Guide) are not associated in any fashion with Diversified Communications or any of our trade show events including (but not limited to):

  • Seafood Processing North America, formerly Seafood Processing America
  • Seafood Expo Global, formerly European Seafood Exposition
  • Seafood Processing Global, formerly Seafood Processing Europe
  • Seafood Expo Asia, formerly Asian Seafood Exposition
  • Pacific Marine Expo
  • SPAR Europe

There are several organizations (including Construct Data which uses the names FairGuide and Expo Guide) that have been targeting exhibitors and small companies around the world including exhibitors at Diversified Business Communications events in the United States requesting that the exhibitor update their trade show directory listing or world business directory. If you have participated in any of our exhibitions in previous years, or are due to participate in any of our events this year you are likely to be targeted.

If you reply to a faxed letter or an email request from any of these companies to update your directory listing you may be locked into an automatically renewing three (3) year contract for an annual charge that could be USD $1,700 or more (GBP 980 or EU 995). Before responding to any solicitation you should carefully read the entire document and if you are in doubt do not respond. If you are a US business and have a complaint or concern about an unsolicited email or fax from one of these companies you can contact your local Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission in Washington DC. If you are an EU based business you can contact your local Consumer Rights office and the EU Consumer Rights office. You can also find more information on the stopecg.org website.
