Lisa was selected as the President and CEO of the National Fisheries Institute in December 2022. She leads an outstanding team of 20 seafood professionals who all have the same goal: more people eating more seafood.
In her previous role as the Senior Vice President for Policy, Trade, and Regulatory Affairs at the National Turkey Federation, Lisa led all regulatory matters, both domestic and international. She also served as the co-chair for USDA’s Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade in Animals and Animal Products. Earlier in her career, Lisa was the Chief of Staff for USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, assisting in overseeing the 10,000-person agency that regulates and inspects meat, poultry, catfish and egg products for distribution in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to joining FSIS, Lisa served as National Director of Public Relations for Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey. She started her career as a staff assistant at the Republican National Committee.
Picard earned an Executive Certificate at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, her Master’s in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Flagler College. An avid hiker and a passionate Nationals baseball fan, she resides in Virginia with her family.
