Roxanne Nanninga oversees the implementation and coordination of sustainability strategy for Chicken of the Sea and Thai Union in North America, including expansion of the company’s traceability and consumer education programs. Nanninga comes to Thai Union from the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) where she was a seafood markets specialist at EDF’s Fishery Solutions Center. In this capacity, she was responsible for working with the seafood industry to improve supply chain efficiencies and promote well-managed fisheries. Prior to EDF, she had founded an integrated seafood fraud prevention company, which combined DNA testing with global food fraud analytics. Nanninga earned a Master’s in Environmental Management and International Development Policy Graduate Certificate from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment.
