Jill Swasey

Jill Swasey has worked as a marine scientist for over twenty years involved in program evaluation and information analysis in support of seafood sustainability. Her project work has incorporated research and analysis of fisheries policy and definition and assessment of sustainability performance criteria. Ms. Swasey has contributed to developing indicators of fisheries governance, risk evaluation, stakeholder engagement and identifying best practices and improvement opportunities in fisheries and aquaculture. Ms. Swasey joined the Aquaculture Stewardship Council in 2020 to lead the organization’s work in demonstrating impact and driving monitoring and evaluation. In this role, Ms. Swasey and her team deliver the workstreams to measure and evaluate sustainability impacts and programmatic efficacy. This involves developing systems and metrics to monitor and evaluate ASC’s progress towards our mission, demonstrating and communicating impacts of our work and ensuring that metrics are embedded into decision making around evaluating effectiveness of existing and new programmes. Ms. Swasey is active in projects across ASC that drive transformation in aquaculture with a shared goal to deliver impacts at scale.
