Jason serves as President of the Fisheries Council of Canada, bringing over 25 years of experience in government and government relations across Canada’s food sector. His previous roles include Vice President of the Grocery Division and Regulatory Affairs at the Retail Council of Canada, as well as key positions within the Government of Canada at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s Grocery Task Force, Health Canada’s food and consumer affairs branches, and Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
Jason is widely recognized for his innovative and personable approach to government relations and advocacy, public relations and communications, and legislative and regulatory affairs. He has a strong track record of building effective partnerships with government officials, NGOs, and industry stakeholders.
Outside of work, Jason is an active volunteer in his community and serves on the Board of the Canadian Scottish Athletic Federation. He lives in Ottawa with his wife Nita.
