Speaker

Cyrus Donato

Cyrus Donato serves as the Puget Sound Inspector for the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), a global union representing nearly 20 million transport workers. He is also a member of the Washington Advisory Committee on Trafficking (WashACT) and has played a pivotal role in advocating for the rights of seafarers and fishermen. Donato’s efforts have brought to light significant labor exploitation in the maritime industry, particularly among foreign workers who often face a lack of legal protections due to their immigration status. As a leading voice against labor trafficking and wage theft, he continues to push for stronger enforcement of workers’ rights and greater accountability in industries that have traditionally operated with minimal oversight. Cyrus holds a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security Studies from Tulane University and Bachelors of Science in Operations Research & Computer Analysis from the US Coast Guard Academy.
