Dick Jones

Dick Jones brings more than four decades of executive leadership across the seafood and food systems sectors. He is a seasoned seafood industry leader, and CEO of Tidepoint Group, a blue economy consultancy focused on advancing sustainable ocean food systems. 

Most recently, he served as CEO of Blue Ocean Mariculture, an open-ocean finfish farm based in Hawaiʻi and recognized as one of the pioneers of offshore aquaculture in the United States. Under his leadership, the company experienced significant revenue growth, strengthened its brand position in premium seafood markets, and expanded its operational and strategic partnerships. His tenure was marked by disciplined financial management, market driven decision making, and a commitment to responsible ocean farming rooted in science and transparency.

From shaping strategy at mission-driven companies like Whole Foods Market and H-E-B to leading global nonprofits such as Ocean Outcomes, he has guided organizations through complex challenges at the intersection of ocean health, food security, and market transformation.

Through Tidepoint Group, Dick serves as Executive Director of the NFI Sushi Council, working with retailers, suppliers, and foodservice leaders to advance standards, strengthen consumer trust, and support responsible growth in the U.S. sushi market.
