Hadi is a fisherman who has worked in Taiwan for more than 17 years, he is also the Treasurer (2023 – 2024) for Forum Silaturahmi Pelaut Indonesia (FOSPI), or Indonesian Seafarers Gathering Forum, which is a self-organized association of more than 2,300 migrant fishers fighting for better working and living conditions for fishers in Taiwan’s coastal and deep sea commercial fishing industry. Previously, he was the secretary of FOSPI (2021-2023) and the Chairman of the Indramayu Community in Donggang (2019-2021). He was one of the founding members of FOSPI in 2007-2008. Hadi has been fighting for the welfare of Indonesian fishers in Taiwan, which he also expresses through his singing and performances. He is also a songwriter, band musician, a former member of “Pasukan Hore” (a music group consisting of fishers) in Donggang, and a fisherman.
