Barcelona, Spain (8 May 2025) –  Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global, the world’s largest and most diverse seafood trade event, closes its 31st edition with more than 35,000 seafood industry professionals. For three days, seafood suppliers and buyers around the world discussed the latest food trends and innovations and explored future solutions to the major challenges facing the sector.

This year, the Expo brought together 2,187 exhibiting companies from 87 countries and 68 national and regional pavilions in more than 51,217 net square meters of exhibit space. Taking place at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Vía Venue, the Expo occupied Halls 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and the Galleria (between halls 4 and 5). The economic impact for the city is estimated to be more than 156 million Euros.

The event received new participation from countries and regions including Albania, Egypt, Georgia, Greenland, Malta, Nigeria and Réunion with new national and regional pavilions from Agencia de Gestion Agraria y Pesquera de Andalucia, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), Japan Federation of Soy Sauce Manufacturers Cooperatives, ProEcuador, Sri Lanka Export Development Board and Instituto Valenciano de Competitividad Empresarial, IVACE (Spain) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

“The exhibit floor was full of energy over the past three days as a truly international meeting place for the global seafood industry to achieve their annual business objectives,” said Wynter Courmont, Vice President, Seafood at Diversified. “Exhibitors and visitors alike use this global platform to strengthen relationships with existing clients, connect with new prospects, build strategic partnerships and stay informed about the latest industry developments.”

Seafood Expo Global exhibitors showcased the most recent innovations in seafood spanning from fresh, frozen, canned, value-added, processed and packaged products.

“We are getting very good exposure at this show and at the same time, we are also able to meet a lot of new clients and existing clients. We also see the product development from all over the world, and this is a showcase for us to understand what happens in the fisheries,” said Mohamed Ameen Sait, Managing Director, Sea Pride LLC of Oman. “We are getting a lot of inquiries and new clients, and at the same time, we also have access to a lot of different countries’ information and products. We are now bringing our product to other parts of the world, and we can’t wait to maintain and upgrade our processing lines.”

Exhibiting companies on the Seafood Processing Global side of the event featured companies representing every aspect of seafood processing, including packaging material and machinery, equipment and supplies for refrigeration and freezing, primary and secondary processing equipment, hygiene control and sanitation and quality assurance services.
