As Director of Programs, Sara Lewis leads FishWise’s work with global business and civil society partners to develop and implement traceability, environmental, and human rights due diligence plans and policies. Her background in traceability and passion for inclusive and data-informed decision making has driven much of FishWise’s recent innovation and governmental advocacy relating to supply chain risk assessment. Sara has published peer-reviewed papers and other publicly available resources on traceability, illegal fishing, and social responsibility in seafood in wild fisheries and aquaculture. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and two masters degrees in Environmental Studies from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and the University of California, Santa Cruz, respectively.
