Goncalo Carvalho

Degree in Marine Biology and Fisheries from the University of Algarve and Master in Urban Sociology, Territory and Environment from ISCTE / IUL. He dedicated the first part of his professional career to data collection and monitoring of various fisheries in mainland and island Portugal. Since 2006, the year in which he collaborated in the creation of Sciaena, he became more and more actively involved with various Non-Governmental Organisations for the Environment (ENGO’s), especifically on fisheries policies and the conservation of marine ecosystems. Currently a member of the Management Committee of Seas at Risk, a consultant for international ENGO’s and Chair of the Ecossystem and Horizontal Working Group of the Pelagic Advisory Council (PelAC).
