I’m a Business Administration (Commercial Engineering) professional and an Ecuadorian vessel owner, with extensive experience managing longline mothership fishing vessels, as well as carrying out activities related to the marketing of seafood products such as dolphinfish (mahi-mahi), swordfish, tuna, among others. I’m currently part of ASOAMAN, a fishing organization in which I have served as an advisor to the board and as a member of the technical team responsible for promoting sustainability and responsible fishing actions implemented through the various initiatives in which I participate. This role has also allowed me to contribute to strengthening cooperation with government authorities and with stakeholders from the productive sector in Ecuador and the region. In addition, I serve as the coordinator of ASOAMAN’s Dolphinfish Fishery Improvement Project, through which I have had the opportunity to provide leadership in implementing activities in support of responsible and sustainable fishing. In this context, I have participated in multiple national and regional meetings and working groups to promote the participation of vessel owners’ and fishers’ representatives in dialogue spaces aimed at strengthening fisheries management.
