Fisheries and aquaculture provide nutrition to people and animals, providing about 17% of the world’s meat consumption, and employing almost 60 million people. Fish and seafood make up 7% of current food production, contributing > USD 600 billion in revenue globally.
With global seafood demands expected to increase in the future, it is important to have a thorough understanding of current and future pressures on the marine environment.
