Taylor Voorhees is Global Aquaculture Director at The Nature Conservancy, leading an interdisciplinary team to position aquaculture as a solution for sustainable food production and biodiversity conservation. With 20 years of experience in aquaculture production and sustainability, his expertise spans finfish and shrimp farming, sustainable feed development, and international standards-setting. Taylor’s early career focused on farm design, hatchery operations, fish nutrition and health, and offshore grow-out systems. He later served as senior aquaculture scientist and led global initiatives at Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program, overseeing sustainability standards and research, and developing improvement projects in the shrimp and salmon sectors. Before joining TNC, Taylor guided corporate strategy as Sustainability Lead for Cargill Aqua Nutrition, one of the world’s largest aquafeed producers. He holds a BS in aquaculture and an MS in aquaculture epidemiology from the University of Rhode Island, and a leadership certificate from Harvard.
