With over 90% of global aquaculture produced in Asia, the continent has a pivotal role in providing seafood worldwide. At the same time, Asia also faces many challenges that come with the rapidly expanding industry, hence it is necessary for the sector to address them and demonstrate responsible practices. This session will explore those challenges with different industry actors, such as producers and NGOs, as well as possible solutions and latest innovative tools to address them, including certification, the role of traceability and aquaculture improvement projects.
