Aruna is an integrated fisheries e-commerce startup in Indonesia, established in 2016, that is working with more than 40,000 fishermen in 150+ coastal fishing communities across Indonesia (covering 90% of provinces) to bring their products to local and global business and markets. Since its establishment, Aruna has been exporting more than 23 seafood commodities to more than 8 different countries, totalling up to 44,000 tons of products. What motivated Utari to establish Aruna came from the closest circle in her livelihood. Growing up in a family of fishers, made her realize that Indonesian fishers face big challenges in improving their lives, despite the great fisheries and maritime potential that Indonesia has.
