Koji has been General Manager of ASC Japan since September 2017 and works to promote environmental and socially responsible aquaculture in Japan.
Koji has a degree in Marine Biology from Bangor University in Wales and an Aquaculture Master’s degree from James Cook University in Australia.
Prior to joining the ASC, Koji worked in over 20 countries as a FAO aquaculture specialist and with The Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia-Pacific (NACA) staff to implement sustainable aquaculture development projects.
He was also involved in developing FAO’s “Technical guidelines on aquaculture certification”, which was published in 2011.
