Carmen is the Director of Squid and Octopus Supply Chain Roundtables at Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP). Supply Chain Roundtables serve as forums for processors, importers, and others that buy directly from specific fishery sectors to work together in a pre-competitive environment to promote improvements throughout the supply chain.
Carmen joined SFP in November 2016.
Her academic background is in ocean sciences and she holds a master’s degree in economics, evaluation, and management of marine environment and fisheries resources at the University of Vigo.
Prior to joining SFP, Carmen worked as a freelance consultant participating and coordinating fisheries observer programs for more than 5 years. Previous experiences also include the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission and the European Fisheries Control Agency as well as the Spanish Institute of Oceanography.
Carmen is based in Vigo, Spain.
