Due to the sheer volume of production and consumption of seafood in Asia, it is critical for the Asian seafood sector to address responsible aquaculture practices and promote the continued consumption of sustainable seafood.
Building on the learning from last year’s panel discussion at this event, “The Upscaling of Sustainability in Asian Aquaculture”, this session will analyze the status and potential of the responsible seafood market and consumption in the region using data from the ASC certification programme, including results from our recent consumer survey. We will examine strengths and weaknesses in the market and discuss how building consumption in the region can lead to a shorter supply chain and the benefits that brings.
