She has worked on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ethicaltrade.org\/programmes\/responsible-purchasing-practices\" rel=\"noopener\">RPP-related projects across food, mined minerals and metals, and apparel and textiles<\/a>, supporting companies to review purchasing practices, strengthen buyer\u2013supplier engagement, and improve labour conditions and human rights using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ethicaltrade.org\/resources\/guidance-and-reports\/common-framework-responsible-purchasing-practices-food\" rel=\"noopener\">Common Framework for Responsible Purchasing Practices<\/a>. She is currently leading a project on purchasing practices in the shrimp sector, working with retailers to examine how commercial decision-making impacts suppliers and workers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Melissa spent over six years in the textile industry across China, Turkey and Southeast Asia.
