Robert Hanner

Biography

Robert Hanner is an Associate Professor at the University of Guelph's Biodiversity Institute of Ontario & Centre for Biodiversity Genomics. His research is focused on molecular methods for species identification, particularly as in relation to food security. He currently serves as global campaign coordinator for the Fish Barcode of Life (FISH-BOL) initiative, which aims to produce a DNA-based identification system for the fishes of the world. He has published more than 8o scientific papers and together with postdoctoral fellow Amanda Naaum, has co-authored an edited volume titled "Seafood Authenticity and Traceability: a DNA-Based Perspective".
