Biography

Joe Zelasney joined the FAO in 2016 as a Fishery Officer. He has more than 10 years of professional experience in the maritime and fisheries sectors. Joe has worked for government and the non-profit and private sectors. His areas of expertise include small-scale fisheries development, commercial fisheries enforcement and safety, and maritime transport policy. Joe holds BA from the University of Colorado in Humanities, a Master’s degree from the University of Washington’s School of Marine Affairs, and a certificate in Global Trade, Transportation and Logistics Studies.
