Experts including a top-chef keynote panel set to dive deep into the business of seafood
PORTLAND, Maine (March 14, 2017) — The organizers of Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America announced the keynote presentation and educational conference program for its event. Scheduled for this upcoming Sunday through Tuesday March 19-21 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, the exposition is North America’s largest annual seafood industry event.
The keynote, a panel discussion titled “Delicious & Profitable: Chefs Discuss the Business of Seafood,” will take place Sunday, March 17, at 3:30 p.m. Chefs on the panel include Ned Bell of Ocean Wise (and the Canadian TV show Cook Like a Chef), Jeff Black of Black Salt Restaurant Group Rick Moonen of RM Seafood, and Boston’s own rising star Richard Garcia of Crescent Hotels and Resorts North America.
The panel will provide a behind-the-scenes look into how trendsetting North American chefs decide which seafood products to use in their dishes. Because consumer seafood-buying trends tend to follow the culinary leaders – even more so today in the age of Instagram – these decisions have implications extending far beyond their restaurant doors.
