Greg brings a diverse Food and Beverage background to Compass Group that includes Executive Chef and Director of Purchasing. Greg is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Management with a concentration in Food & Beverage Executive Management, earned his AAS in Culinary Arts from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC., and a BA in Sociology from Curry College in Milton, MA.
Greg was privileged to train under an American Culinary Federation’s Chef of the Year and a James Beard ”Best Chef in America” nominees, as well as enhance his baking skills studying under a Master Baker. Greg has also had the pleasure of mentoring many students through the Johnson and Wales Culinary School externship program.
With Starwood Hotels, Greg’s successful purchasing model was implemented at the Westin Charlotte and was designated the best practice hotel for Food & Beverage purchasing. His model was implemented by Starwood through national and international franchises.
Throughout his career, Greg and his cuisine have been featured on TLC’s “Platinum Weddings and catered movie premieres. He’s also been selected as a Personal Chef for many Hollywood celebrities and professional athletes as well as international dignitaries visiting Charlotte.
Currently Greg works with the Foodbuy Culinary Solutions team, consulting in multiple verticals for the organization (Hospitality, Healthcare, and Higher Education), specializing in distribution, operational efficiencies, restaurant and banquet profitability, opportunity analysis, product reviews and product conversions.
