Giulia Loi is a Veterinarian and Food Safety Advisor working for the Food Safety, Nutrition and Health Team (NFIMF) of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in Rome, Italy. She graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2016 at the University of Camerino in Italy and she is currently based in Spain. She has been working in FAO for six years. As part of her work, she develops sections and content on food safety issues. She analyses all cases of import notifications of fisheries and aquaculture products in some of the main importing countries of aquatic products. As part of her work, she compiles and analyse data of import notifications since 2016. These data are also available in the Globefish website and in FishstatJ, both FAO products. In addition, she analyses the main regulations, guidance and laws related to food safety of fishery and aquaculture products and bivalve molluscs in different countries.
