Since the start of 2017, Seafoodexport has changed its name to become SEAFOODIA.
A new name that expresses the excellence of the sea (SEAFOOD) every day (DIA). It’s a name that evokes a new country or even a world.
This marks a turning point for the company which is heading for 2026 with a new vision and a new momentum. It is entering new markets, selling new products and creating new brands, always with a focus on the respect of the human being and the environment.
2016 was an important year for the company: Seafoodia entered the Top 400 seafood companies worldwide, reaching € 115 million, thanks to a + 15% growth.
An Innovation Centre was opened on Prince Edward Island in Canada and the Corporate Responsibility Plan was launched. An association Pure Ocean was set up to protect the ocean and promote sustainable fishing practices. In 2016, Seafoodia was certified MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) and «Friend of the Sea» and was the only company in the PACA region to receive the label Great Place to Work® 2016 in the category companies with less than 50 employees.
And it doesn’t stop there – Seafoodia is committed to distributing the highest quality and innovative seafood products from sustainable fisheries, with recognized certifications and labels.
By 2026, its goal is to provide every household with quality seafood products coming from sustainable fisheries and to enter the Top 100 seafood companies worldwide.
Founded by David Sussmann in 1996 in the US and then in Europe, Seafoodia (www.seafoodia.com) is a human-size multicultural company with around 50 employees (10 nationalities & 14 languages).
