SUPER FOODS PERÚ LAUNCHES AT SEAFOOD EXPO GLOBAL 2017

Today, Tuesday 25th April, PROMPERÚ’s brand ‘SUPER FOODS PERÚ” will launch officially at Seafood Expo Global 2017 in Brussels. At 12pm the ribbon will be cut to inaugurate the PROMPERÚ stand in the presence of the Ambassador of Peru to Brussels and Peru’s Minister of Production, as well as other authorities and representatives from the private sector.

PROMPERÚ, through its brand SUPER FOODS PERÚ, promotes the offering and sustainable development of Peru’s unique species of fish, placing them on the radar of international seafood suppliers and media. This brand will be promoted in over forty activities during 2017, including the most outstanding gastronomy, tourism and export fairs worldwide.

Seafood Expo Global 2017 features SUPER FOODS PERÚ, after Peru’s successful participation in fairs from the sector in Berlin and Boston, amongst others. As Seafood Expo Global is the most important fair in the world which specialises in seafood products, it was chosen by PROMPERÚ as an ideal platform from which to launch its new fish and seafoods brand within SUPER FOODS PERÚ.

PROMPERÚ, the Commission for the Promotion of Perú’s Exports and Tourism, participates as a major sponsor and exhibitor in the 2017 edition of Seafood Expo Global, and has high expectations in terms of interacting and generating comercial ties with leading buyers from the fish sector worldwide. In this 25th edition of the fair more than 1,700 exhibitors are expected from seventy-five countries.

According to PROMPERÚ, ‘as an economic block, Europe is one of the major destinations for exports in the rank of fish and acuiculture products for direct human consumption.’ ‘During the Seafood Expo Global 2017 special guests will be offered a cocktail reception at the PROMPERÚ stand; a declaration of intentions will be signed as to sustainability in terms of fishing pota or giant squid, Perú’s main export product, and a visit will be made to Amberes port, amongst the promotional activities planned.’

In 2016, export results of Peruvian fish products to Europe came close to USD$521 milion. From a total of exported products, 34% were giant squid (pota), 20% were scallops, 13% were langoustines and 13% were anchovies.

SUPER FOODS PERÚ celebrates the power of its healthy and nutirtious foods, which are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. These include not only vegetables and grains like quinoa but also fish products like giant squid (pota), tuna, scallops, anchovies, langoustines and mackerel. All these products have great potential in the international market.
