As we plan for the in-person event, this page serves as a resource for important information about COVID-19 as related to the 2021 Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global.
2 November 2020 – Announcement: Event Postponed
Diversified Communications has determined that it is necessary to postpone Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global to 7-9 September 2021 at the Gran Via venue in Barcelona, Spain.
This postponement is an unavoidable consequence of the continued magnitude of the public health and safety issues caused by COVID-19, which are not yet showing the types of encouraging trends we have been hoping for. We have been closely monitoring the world health situation, government regulations and travel restrictions while carefully considering the concerns that have been addressed to us by customers and attendees. Unfortunately, it has become evident that April 2021 would be too early to convene the global seafood industry.
The decision to move the event to September 2021 was based on availability Fira de Barcelona was able to provide as they worked relentlessly to find a date that would accommodate an event of our size.
While planning for our 2021 event, we continue to closely follow the situation around COVID-19. Like many event organizers, we are always exploring contingency plans to provide business continuity for our seafood community. We are committed to delivering an in-person event in 2021 and are working with the venue and the appropriate authorities to ensure the health and safety of our customers, attendees, vendors, employees and local community.
The 2022 edition of Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global is scheduled in the same time frame as in past years – in April 2022.
We thank you for your patience as we navigate these challenging times and look forward to getting our seafood community back together in Barcelona in September 2021.
