2019 Seafood Excellence Award Winners

Viciunai Group of Belgium and Kingfish Zeeland BV of the Netherlands won the top prizes in the 2019 Seafood Excellence Global awards at Seafood Expo Global, the world’s largest and most prestigious seafood event.

The top award for Best Retail Product was given to Viciunai Group for its entry, Surimi Noodles Wok Style, a convenient meal it its own lunch box filled with surimi noodles, Chinese vegetables and a Korean glaze sauce. Kingfish Zeeland BV won the grand prize for Best HORECA (hotel/restaurant/catering) Product for its Dutch Yellowtail. Sustainably farmed without antibiotics, this fish can be served raw or cooked as an alternative to tuna and swordfish.

Four special Seafood Excellence Global awards were also given: The award for Health & Nutrition was presented to Guacamole with Fresh Spirulina from GlobeXplore — Algae. Golden Fresh Sdn Bhd won the award for Convenience for its Prawn in Hor Mok Thai Coconut Sauce. The Innovation award was given to Surimi Noodles Wok Style from Viciunai Group, and St. James Smokehouse (Scotland) Ltd. was presented the award for Retail Packaging for its Saint Pure Salmon.
