The three-day event, held annually,\u00a0provided\u00a0a platform for\u00a0global\u00a0exhibitors across the seafood supply chain\u00a0to\u00a0establish\u00a0and build relationships\u00a0with buyers in Asia.\u00a0The event saw success in its Business Matchmaking Program, a unique networking opportunity that allowed\u00a0exhibitors and buyers to pre-schedule individual meetings onsite. The program confirmed more than\u00a0440\u00a0meetings throughout the event. Other networking events and onsite features,\u00a0including\u00a0the\u00a0conference program,\u00a0product showcase and Seafood Excellence Asia Awards,\u00a0offered further exposure and in-person connection\u00a0for the seafood industry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seafoodexpo.com\/asia\/exhibitor-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Companies\u00a0across the world<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0showcased\u00a0their latest\u00a0seafood\u00a0products,\u00a0technologies\u00a0and offerings\u00a0to buyers from across Asia.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 40 exhibiting countries&nbsp;took part&nbsp;in&nbsp;this year\u2019s event included&nbsp;Australia, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, France, Germany, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam and Yemen.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis Expo is super relevant for us because we don\u2019t just connect deeper with our Singapore customers, but also with customers across the region, so customers coming from Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam and Thailand,\u201d said Rodrigo Bustos, Regional Manager&nbsp;at&nbsp;AquaChile. \u201cFor example,&nbsp;on day one&nbsp;we had thirty-one&nbsp;meetings&nbsp;from 7 to 10 markets across the region, so it&#8217;s an incredible opportunity for us to connect and find new opportunities.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>High-volume seafood buyers&nbsp;and importers&nbsp;attended to source new products and meet with exhibitors through the Business Matchmaking Program from industries like airlines, cruise lines, distributors, caterers, hotels, importers, restaurants, supermarkets, wholesalers. Participating companies included&nbsp;Central Food Wholesale&nbsp;Co.,Ltd.&nbsp;(Thailand), CJ&nbsp;Freshway&nbsp;(Republic of Korea), CP&nbsp;Axtra&nbsp;Public Company Limited. (Philippines), Royal Seafood International Trading Company Limited (Vietnam),\u202fSATS Catering Pte Ltd (Singapore), SMS International Sysco (Ireland),\u202fSuntech International Food Co. Ltd. (Hong Kong SAR),\u202fSureste&nbsp;Properties, Inc. (Philippines), Vikings Group of Companies (Philippines) and more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe were honored to participate in Seafood Expo Asia, one of the leading platforms showcasing the future of the global seafood industry,&#8221; said Darren Hong, General Manager,&nbsp;Emart&nbsp;(Vietnam).&nbsp;\u201c&#8230;Through this event, we gained valuable insights into emerging trends, and we met several potential suppliers. We have already confirmed an order with one Chinese supplier and are currently in discussions with others. It was also a meaningful opportunity to connect with international partners and explore new avenues for collaboration. We look forward to meeting even more suppliers next year.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur participation allowed us to identify several new suppliers and products that we might not have discovered otherwise,\u201d said Anh Tran,&nbsp;Purchasing&nbsp;Officer at Fishman Foods in Australia. \u201cThis has&nbsp;opened up&nbsp;opportunities to expand our product range and explore potential new partnerships. We are currently reviewing some of the offers and plan to place trial orders, which could help us strengthen our sourcing strategy and deliver more value to our customers.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The&nbsp;Best New Seafood Products&nbsp;for the Asian Market&nbsp;Were Announced<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lam Kee Fisheries Pte Ltd<\/strong>&nbsp;won the top prize as the Seafood Excellence Asia Award\u2019s Best New Product for its\u202fretail\u202fproduct&nbsp;<strong>Snow Treasures Miso-Marinated Cod Cube (Singapore)<\/strong>.\u202fThe awards for second and third place for Best New Product were given to&nbsp;<strong>Vinh Hoan Corporation (Vietnam)<\/strong>\u202ffor&nbsp;<strong>its\u202fProtein Pho Fusion<\/strong>\u202fand&nbsp;<strong>Gumusdoga&nbsp;Su&nbsp;Urunleri&nbsp;(Turkey)<\/strong>\u202ffor its\u202f<strong>Frozen Salmon Trout Fillet<\/strong>, respectively. A live judging took place at the event by a panel of high-volume seafood buyers and industry experts from Central Food Wholesales Ltd. from Thailand,&nbsp;Emart&nbsp;from South Korea, SATS Catering from Singapore and Cold Storage and Giant from Singapore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Industry Experts Weighed in on Sustainability,&nbsp;Certifications&nbsp;and Economic&nbsp;Shifts Impacting&nbsp;Asia&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sustainability&nbsp;and certifications were major&nbsp;topics of interest&nbsp;in the conference program with sessions led by&nbsp;industry&nbsp;experts. Popular sessions included&nbsp;equitable,&nbsp;sustainable&nbsp;and accountable supply chains across Asia, market&nbsp;access&nbsp;and the strategic value of certification in sustainable (responsible) seafood,&nbsp;shrimp market dynamics in the age of trade disruptions and more.&nbsp;Leading Asian economist,&nbsp;<strong>Mr. Manu Bhaskaran<\/strong>,&nbsp;provided&nbsp;a keynote address&nbsp;where he discussed economic shifts&nbsp;and how&nbsp;they\u2019re&nbsp;impacting&nbsp;the Asian region.
