The 10th edition of Seafood Expo Asia brings together leading international suppliers showcasing industry trends, the latest innovations and an array of products from around the world

The Premium Seafood Marketplace for Asia returns to Hong Kong on 3-5 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

HONG KONG, 4 July 2019 – Hong Kong, the region’s hub to high-growth Asian markets, continues to host the seafood industry’s annual trade event at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 3-5 September 2019.  Connecting global suppliers & professionals in the region, Seafood Expo Asia showcases the world’s premium seafood products, equipment and services and provides buyers with the opportunity to learn and explore the latest trends in seafood.

Seafood Expo Asia recorded strong attendance last year with over 7,580 qualified seafood professionals, including visitors coming from 68 countries and suppliers from 34 countries.  Top products that buyers look for at the event are frozen, fresh and live seafood, canned and value-added products as well as aquaculture/farmed seafood.  Visitors can expect a plethora of popular and new products this September from new and returning exhibiting suppliers.

The 2019 edition will highlight a conference program providing seafood professionals access to industry trends and insights.  Sessions will include topics on tariff strategies, the impact of Brexit for the global seafood industry, prepacked seafood trend and sustainable seafood development.

Seafood buyers will benefit from the event’s features, which include a product showcase and tasting kitchen for sourcing ideas as well as sampling top and trendy products from around the world.  The signature networking event, Seafood Party, provides a unique environment for key buyers and suppliers to engage with each other over sumptuous canapes and drinks.

The 3rd edition of the Young Chef Challenge will recognize the next generation of culinary talent in Hong Kong and will take place on day 2 and day 3 during Seafood Expo Asia. The competition encourages culinary mentorship and provides opportunity for aspiring culinary chefs to discover and further develop their skills.

This year’s judging panel brings together top culinary experts including: Chef Robert Nilsson, Culinary Director of W Hong Kong, Chef Glenn Saussey, Executive Chef of Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong, Chef Matthew Woolford, Executive Chef of Kerry Hotel Hong Kong and Chef Esther Sham, Executive Chef & Director of Maison ES. The Young Chef Challenge ambassador will be Mr. Gabriel Choy, Chef, winner of the Gordon Ramsay Scholar competition 2005.  They will choose the most outstanding contestant after two rounds of onsite cook-offs.
