Omar Riego Peñarubia is a Fishery Officer working for FAO. His work portfolio includes projects on fish post-harvest processing, technology and food loss and waste. Prior to his tenure in FAO, he worked in the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (Philippines) and various food manufacturing companies as food science researcher and food safety officer. Omar has an MSc in Food Science, Technology and Nutrition from KU Leuven under the Erasmus Mundus programme.
