The Business Matchmaking Platform, Jublia:

Where is the digital event hosted?

Seafood Expo Asia Reconnect is hosted through Jublia, a comprehensive online event that brings industry suppliers and buyers together to connect, meet and accomplish business. Suppliers and buyers will be provided with login instructions in the weeks before the three-day event.

How does the platform work?

• Jublia uses smart schedule technology to seamlessly connect buyers and suppliers through video meetings.
• The platform allows you to indicate your preferences and will automatically surface the most relevant buyers at the top of meeting page.
• You can set your time availability and confirm your schedule before you send out meeting requests. This allows buyers responding to your meeting requests to choose a time that you are available, to successfully setup a meeting.
• Buyers can find you and send meeting requests to you as well.
• You can chat with buyers who have connected with you, through the chat function.

Do we need to download a new application for meeting?

No. The Jublia meetings platform is a web-based program that does not require any downloading. You can access the platform through your web browser on your laptop or to save the Jublia webpage on your mobile device by following these steps:
Saving to your home screen:
• For iOS: Visit the event platform through your mobile device’s web app. Then tap on share icon and select ‘Add to Home Screen’.
• For Android, Chrome Mobile: Visit the event platform through your mobile device’s web app. Select ‘Add to Home Screen’.

What criteria will buyers and suppliers use for their profiles?

To be able to match suppliers and buyers, the following criteria should be provided:
• Buyers should provide: Contact information, products of interest, country, or countries of interest
• Suppliers should provide: Contact information, product they are selling including available species

Will meetings take place via video?

Meetings will take place through the Jublia platform. Meetings can be conducted as a conference call (with or without video).

How long does a meeting take? Will we have enough time for discussion?

Meetings are scheduled for one hour. During this time, you can discuss any range of business topics with your prospective buyer. If your meeting exceeds the provided time, you can mutually coordinate another meeting during the three-day event or follow up at your own convenience after the event.

Will the organizer give any support relating to translation between buyers and suppliers, etc.?

• The event organizer is not able to provide translation support between buyers and suppliers as meetings are private..
• You can invite your own translator to join the meeting Each video call can facilitate up to 6 participants – please inform us in advance and a login for the translator will be provided.

Supplier Questions:

After purchasing a package to participate in the business matchmaking as a supplier, what will we need to do next?

You will receive a communication from our Customer Service with instructions on how to confirm your listing and how to include your product images and descriptions on the portal.

How do Platinum and Gold suppliers register company representatives?

Once connected to Jublia, Platinum and Gold suppliers will be able to identify up to 4 company representatives and generate unique logins for each. Log ins cannot be shared.

Are Platinum suppliers limited to presenting one product in their 15-minute video?

The 15-minute video is not limited to any one topic. Platinum suppliers can highlight one product or multiple products, or even the company’s history. The only requirement is that the video presentation finish at 15 minutes or less and must be uploaded to Youtube or Vimeo and send us the video link.

Can any supplier include a 15-minute video on their profile?

If you did not purchase a Platinum package, you can upgrade your participation to the Platinum level which includes the 15- minute video presentation opportunity.

Can a Silver supplier go find buyers and invite them to the meeting by themselves?

Yes, Silver level suppliers can use Jublia’s smart meeting technology to view a prospective buyers’ availability and request a meeting time. Both parties, suppliers, and buyers, must mutually agree on the meeting time before it can begin.

How do we know buyers are our exact target?

During registration, buyers are asked a series of required questions about their business interest and goals. The Seafood Expo Asia Reconnect team reviews the applications and only accepts buyers whose business is aligned with yours.

Can we see which buyers are participating?

Once connected to Jublia,
• Platinum and Gold level suppliers will be able to see and set meetings up with Key Buyers starting on 2 November.
• Silver suppliers will be able to access the business matchmaking and setup meetings with buyers starting 9 November.
Suppliers will see part of the buyers’ information. More information will be shared once the buyers have accepted a supplier’s invitation to meet (and vice versa).

How will the Buyer’s Guide be organized?

• The first version of the Buyer’s Guide, which will be distributed to Key Buyers on 2 November, will include a list of Platinum and Gold participating suppliers in alphabetical order followed by each supplier profiles highlighting their company name, contact information and product images*.

• On 9 November, an updated version of the Buyer’s Guide will be sent to all participating buyers. This version of the Buyer’s Guide will include information of all participating suppliers (Platinum, Gold and Silver), company names, product images, product presentations* along with the schedule of events and conference program.

Buyer Questions:

When does Registration open?

Registration for seafood buyers opened on 5 October 2020.

When will the Conference Program be held? What is the specific timeline?

• The Conference Program, available in Jublia, combines live and pre-recorded sessions on topics including: Global Fish Trade Post COVID-19; Trade Flows Among Top Canned Fish Commodities in Asia; The Digital Revolution – New Seafood Industry Developments and more. The conference will be held on 17, 18 and 19on 17 and 18 November. The schedule of events will be made available in the weeks leading up to the event.
• You can continue to access the conference program 3 weeks after the event (until 10 December), so you can use your time on business discussion during the event.

Can a Buyer meet with another Buyer?

No. During Seafood Expo Asia Reconnect only suppliers and buyers can connect for important business meetings. Buyers will not be able to schedule meetings with one another.
